When in Doha....

Hallelujah! We finally all have a day off again! Went to the LuLu Centre this morning, a department store about a 10-minute walk from our apartment. Talk about colourful clothing!! Almost everything in the women's department comes in big, bold patterns and bright colours, often with sequins! While I was drawn to some of these items and even tried some on, I was also conscious of the fact that I probably wouldn't wear them once I return to Canada. So, I went with something a little more subdued. It's true what they say, that wearing loose, flowing clothes really is much cooler for this type of climate.

Afterwards, we checked out the Hamad General Hospital, across the street. It's the main hospital in Hospital City. Check out the lobby and waiting area!

The ICU waiting room is surrounded by a fountain (below).

Below: this futuristic building is the Supreme Council of Health. I pass it everyday on my way to the Heart Hospital and think I'm driving in the future. It's enormous!
